Conscious Breathing

“Conscious pore breathing” is a technique introduced by Franz Bardon in his book “Initiation into Hermetics.” It involves visualizing and directing the breath through the body’s pores, thus allowing for deeper energetic connection and purification. The concept is rooted in the idea that the body’s pores serve as channels for the flow of energy, and by consciously breathing through them, one can enhance their vitality and spiritual development.
The practice of conscious pore breathing typically involves the following steps:
- Relaxation: Begin by assuming a comfortable posture and taking a few deep breaths to relax the body and mind.
- Visualization: Visualize the pores of your skin opening up, allowing for the flow of energy to enter and exit freely.
- Breathing: Inhale slowly and deeply, imagining that you are drawing in fresh energy through every pore of your body. Feel the energy filling you with vitality and renewal.
- Exhalation: Exhale slowly and completely, releasing any tension or negativity stored within you. Visualize the stagnant energy leaving your body through the pores, cleansing and purifying you.
- Repeat: Continue this practice for several minutes, focusing on the sensation of energy flowing in and out through your pores with each breath.
Conscious pore breathing is believed to promote physical health, mental clarity, and spiritual growth by harmonizing the body’s energy flow and removing energetic blockages. It is often incorporated into broader practices of energy work and meditation within the framework of Bardon’s Hermetic system.
